This rock building was built in 1948, after World War II, to honor veterans of all wars.  The county commissioners' court hired local men to contract the building.  Some of the men who worked on the building were B.L. Blakeway, the Jeffery brothers, E.H. Topliff.  This Memorial Building serves as a public community center for Schleicher County honoring all veterans of war.
